From The Car

From The CarI have heard of photography defined as painting with light, which oftentimes appears to be a proper description. In a more literal way, there have been times when I have taken this idea and implemented it, such as in this particular image, which I call From The Car.

This was created by mounting my camera inside the car and taking images, several seconds in length, while driving at night. The result can be compared to the music of John Cage, who popularized the idea of music by chance. Many attempts at this will be thrown away, but others result in interesting forms that can almost be understood, yet still remain a mystery.
