When I was in Wales, one of the primary purposes was to see the castles, especially the ones that were built during the suppression by the English. These castles were built as military installations to control the countryside, and had little to do with comfort – actually, they had nothing to do with comfort, they were strictly utilitarian in nature.
Not all that looks like castle is castle, and this image is actually a residence that was built to look like a castle.
Even if it is not a real castle, it fits in the environment and has this typical mystical Wales atmosphere. Btw nice shot.
