Antietam Trees

I like to visit Antietam in the winter, when things are quiet. The bare trees give this location a feeling for what happened here during the Civil War, as if they still remember and continue to be shocked with the absurdity of the loss of life. The stillness stands as a testament to our folly, and the occasional cold breeze always sends a shiver up my back.

This is a traditional darkroom print made on Ilford MGIV paper, originating on Fomapan 400 film.
