New York City’s Theater District is a wonderful place to shoot street photography. Not only is it filled with tourists, but many residents go there for reasons of their own. I started playing a game of seeing how close I could get to people. The camera I was using was my Nikon 35Ti, which I feel is the perfect street camera, as it is small, has a great fixed 35mm lens, and is about as unobtrusive as it gets.
In this particular case the gentleman was annoyed at people because they were not buying the tickets he had for the play Catch Me If You Can. After all, he was offering them at an excellent price, and it was a play that everyone wanted to see, so why wouldn’t they buy his tickets? In this picture, yet another potential customer was not taking advantage of the fantastic opportunity to take the tickets off his hands.
