The final image in this short series is that of the exterior of the house in Asheville. Of interest to me are the vertical and horizontal elements in the image, competing with one another to bring cohesion to a lost cause.
Fighting these are two diagonals, a prominent vertical attempting to hold a horizontal. Although success is currently at hand, we all know the eventual winner – entropy.
The sink and trash can appear out of place. Once useful, they now stand as reminders of what was, as well as symbols of the house’s destination.
Wonderful image and a great description! I also like how the organic form of the tree in the center stands against the geometric forms of the house.
